FACTS and FIGURES:
A recent research postulated that over 90% kids lacked “Financial Literacy” and were not aware about Money Management Mechanisms and Tools. Almost 70% of teens have a joint account with either of the parents and operate with a debit card. A little over 30% have a mobile wallet. That was all the exposure and involvement these young bracket had with money.
It was against the backdrop of this revelation, MUVIN decided to launch FIN MANIA- the first ever Money Olympiad to promote Financial Literacy amongst children, and roped in our team to partner in strategizing, finetuning and executing it.
Muvin, the clear and established Thought Leader in this space, realised it’s role in ‘Bridging The Gap’. The primary intent was to ensure children learn the basics of financial literacy and investments at an early stage. Money Olympiad was a QUIZ CONTEST aimed to cover important financial literacy topics for high school students and empower them to take right / practical decisions regarding Money, Personal Budgeting , Spending, Savings and Investing.
The mandate for us was to meet up with Principals of the prospective participating schools, emphasise on the need of the hour for such programs and amplify the registration and provide a seamless and fantastic experience to the participants all through the journey. The registration process for Fin Mania and content for expanding financial awareness and study material (Videos, Blogs, Ref.Links) for quiz was facilitated by an exclusive Mobile App developed by Muvin.
The financial literacy programme designed for kids were segregated into 3 groups as per the grasping capacity for kids based on the grades-(7th & 8th) (9th & 10th) (11th & 12th). We got a tremendous positive response from the principals who clearly had the similar vision towards shaping a young mind towards self-reliance not just academically but financially as well.
We conducted the Quiz at three levels- Schools, Zonal and National Finale with an massive participation from 50,000 plus kids from 150 plus schools in Mumbai, Pune, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Delhi, Chennai, Coimbatore and Bengaluyru. . The winners of the Money Olympiad at each level - School, Zonal & National levels pocketed prize money totalling to Rs. 10 lakh. The initiative was supported massively by the PR Partners- Hindustan Times and Mint.
The client- Muvin and the Principals of participating schools were extremely elated with the overall impact triggered by this exercise expediated by us and the overall experience facilitated by us. It’s the beginning of bigger things to come..
